  • Resumen
    • On May, 2nd, 1808, the people from Madrid raised against those who wanted to rule over by the force. That means standing out the values of those who, from ideological or professional point of view, didnt resigned to be the chorus of an impostor monarch and of the atrocities of an Spanish Army, closer to be ally rather than enemy of the French one.

From these premises, its easy to make a panegyric of pharmacist, professor of Chemistry at Royal School of Pharmacy of San Fernando, military and great politician Andrés Alcón; an unusual liberal (as almost every liberals were Francophiles), who joined the popular rising.

Looking at Andrés Alcón, its needed to analyze his aspects as man, pharmacist, scientist and politician. All these facets meet, and allow to understand and value his job as a pharmacist committed with his job, the Pharmacy; with his passion, Chemistry; and who wanted to turn into possible the desirable (thats Politics, to whose a good part of his life he devoted). All those are briefly touched upon on this paper.
