    Este artículo trata de identificar algunas de las grandes líneas del tema familia/historia social, partiendo de los logros obtenidos por la historiografía y procurando ponerlos en relación con el caso italiano. El autor intenta desarrollar un análisis relativo a los diversos casos regionales italianos. El ejemplo más notorio es el toscano, que ha merecido la atención de D. Herlihy y C. KÍapisch-Zuber y de M. Berengo. Junto a él, el caso lombardo, estudiado por D. Zanetti, y el de Venezia, analizado por G. Borelli. Distinto a estos casos es el ejemplo del Mezzogiorno de Italia. Se señalan los estudios de G. Delille, A.M. Visceglia y G. Vitale

    This article attemps to identify some of the major themes in social history, and specifically in the area of family history. It focuses on works that bear directly on the history of family in Italy, and it analyzes case studies relating to the experience of several Italian regional states. Among those, because of D. Herlihy's and C. Klapisch-Zuber's and M. Berengo's research, the best known is the case of Tuscany. The experience of Lombardy and the Venetia, on the other hand, has been studied by D. Zenetti and G. Borelli, respectively. Different from these northern experiences is the case of Southern Italy, which has been brought to light by the work of G. Delille, M.A. Visceglia and G. Vitale
