De Venecia a Compostela: ''cosí el mondo caminando diremo cantando che la birba e un bel mestier''

    El dramaturgo Carlo Goldoni escribe La Birba (Venecia, 1735) inspirándose en una escena cotidiana que él mismo había presenciado reiteradamente en la bulliciosa plaza de San Marcos. En 1774, otro italiano, el compositor Buono Chiodi utiliza el mismo texto y consigue reestrenar esta pieza en Santiago de Compostela, lugar en el que también se aglomeraban las gentes, venidas del entorno o de lejanos lugares, con motivo de la visita al Apóstol. En este estudio intentamos responder a los interrogantes que surgen ante esta coincidencia, totalmente singular, indagando en las posibles razones que pudieron motivar la nueva puesta en escena de la historia de los titiriteros (‘birbe’) de Goldoni en Compostela, pues parece difícil aceptar que haya sido sólo fruto de una mera casualidad.

    The play wright Carlo Goldoni writes La Birba (Venice, 1735) inspiring by a daily scene that he itself had attended repeatedly in the boisterous square of San Marcos. In 1774, another Italian, the composer Buono Chiodi uses the same text and manages to re-release this piece in Santiago de Compostela, place in which also there were agglomerating the peoples come from the environment or from distant places, on the occasion of the visit to the Apostle. In this study we try to answer to the questions that arise before this coincidence, totally singularly, investigating in the possible reasons that could motivate the new putting in scene of the history of the puppeteers (‘birbe’) of Goldoni in Compostela, since it seems to be difficult to accept that it has been only a fruit of a mere chance.
