    El término de célula madre se ha hecho tan popular dentro y fuera del foro científico que, en ocasiones, puede parecer que pierde credibilidad. Por esto es tan importante respetar las normas del rigor científico, por un lado y filtrar la información que nos llega, por otro, de manera que nuestra investigación parta de una base completamente revisada.

    En este artículo se ha realizado una actualización de la literatura con dos objetivos: conocer cada uno de los tipos de células madre existentes y las ventajas e inconvenientes que presentan; saber cuál es la aplicación clínica en humanos que tienen este tipo de células, basándonos en la revisión de los ensayos clínicos en fase I y II publicados en la literatura.

    The word has been made so popular inside and out of the scientist forum that, sometimes, it can seem that it loses credibility. For this reason, it is so important to respect the scientific rigor rules. On the one hand, we have to filter the information that we receive, on the other hand, so that our research sets off of a completely revised base.

    In this article, an update of the literature about it has been carried out with two goals: knowing each of the types of existing and the advantages and disadvantages that they have; knowing which is the clinical application in human beings that have this type of cells, taking into account the revision of the clinical tests in phase I and II that have been published.
