El presente artículo analiza la pintura mural hallada tras las excavaciones de la domus de la Puerta Oriental de Lucentum. Ésta corresponde a la estancia norte y más concretamente al rodapié, zócalo, zona media y registro superior o techo de las paradas norte y oeste. Los fragmentos y las grandes placas conservadas muestran una decoración típica dentro del panorama de la pintura romana provincial de los siglos I y II dC, donde el zócalo presenta imitaciones marmóreas; la zona media se desarrolla entre paneles anchos e interpanales estrechos en cuyo interior figuran los característicos candelabros metálicos; un registro superior ornado por una gran cornisa moldurada en estuco y el techo, donde los motivos decorativos aparecen ejecutados sobra un sistema de red

This article analyses the mural painting discovered in the excavations at the Domus of the Puerta Oriental in Lucentum. It belongs to the northern room, exactly to the zocle, middle zone and higher register or plafond of the western and northern walls. The fragments and the big plates preserved display a typical decoration of the provincial Roman painting in the first and second Centuries, where the zocle shows marbles imitations: the middle zona develops between the wide and narrow panels, which represent the characteristic metallic lamps; a higher register decorated by a great cornise casted in stucco and the plafonds, where the decorative/ornamental motives are carved on a supply system.
