Los factores de riesgo laborales están asociados tanto a los aspectos físicos como psicológicos y sociales. Los principales riesgos en el trabajo están relacionados con la demanda física de la tarea a realizar, como posturas, movimientos, repeticiones, vibraciones y carga estática y dinámica. La posición corporal que una persona adopta para realizar un determinado trabajo, el tiempo que ésta se mantiene, la fuerza desarrollada y los movimientos pueden ser la causa de numerosas lesiones musculoesqueléticas, como síndrome del túnel carpiano, lumbalgia o cervicalgia. La prevención de la mayor parte de estos problemas se podría efectuar con prevención pasiva: mediante el estudio ergonómico de los puestos de trabajo y evitando los potenciales factores de riesgo y con prevención activa: ofreciendo información educativa al trabajador tanto sobre los riesgos como sobre las medidas que debe tomar para evitarlos.

Factors of health risk at work are associated not only to physical aspects but to psychological and social ones. The main risks at work are related to the physical demand of the task to be carried out, as postures, movements, repetitions, vibrations and static and dynamic load. The corporal position that a person adopts to carry out a certain task, the time that it is maintained, the force developed and the movements he/she makes, can be the cause of numerous musculoskeletal injuries, as carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain or neck pain. The prevention of most of these problems could be made with both passive and active prevention. Passive prevention involves the ergonomic study of jobs and the avoidance of the potential risk factors. Active prevention can be carried out by offering educational information to the worker about the risk, and the measures that he/she should take to avoid them.
