Se comenta la situación y futuro de las centrales nucleares en el mundo, haciendo hincapié en el caso español. Se señala la dificultad que tiene la industria nuclear para superar los graves inconvenientes de esta fuente de energía: la dificultad para garantizar la seguridad, la gestión de los residuos de alta actividad y las altas inversiones necesarias. Todos estos inconvenientes han motivado que la opinión pública española y europea sean contrarias a la energía nuclear.
Es difícil que se produzca un relanzamiento nuclear sin apoyo económico por parte de los Estados que garantice el retorno de las inversiones.

The situation of the nuclear power plants in the World is commented, making emphasis on the Spanish case.
It is also pointed the difficulty of the nuclear industry to overcome the main caveats of this energy source: To guarantee the safety of the reactors, the management of the high radioactive level waste, and high investments necessary to build a nuclear power plant. These caveats have made that the public opinion is against the nuclear energy in Europe, and especially in Spain. It is difficult that a relaunching of nuclear energy witout the economical support of the governments, which guarantees the return of the investments
