    Este trabajo trata de describir y analizar algunas de las principales novedades introducidas por el reciente Real Decreto 231/2008, de 15 de febrero, regulador del Sistema Arbitral de Consumo. Estudio que se realiza partiendo de las características originarias y esenciales del arbitraje de consumo y examinando el alcance o influencia que las aludidas reformas podrían tener o llegar a tener sobre tales características, esto es, cómo o hasta qué punto aquéllas han contribuido a reforzar o, en su caso, cuestionar las características tradicionales y fundamentales del arbitraje de consumo.

    This article explains some of the main changes introduced and established by the new Consumer Arbitration Royal Decree 231/2008 of 15th February 2008. Exposition that will be done studying the fundamental features of consumer arbitration and the influence that this new Royal Decree 231/2008 has had or would be able to have in these characteristics.
