    El patrimonio histórico, cultural, arquitectónico y natural del mundo rural se ha convertido en uno de los elementos diferenciadores del turismo. En los últimos años ha experimentado un importante crecimiento, tanto de la oferta como de la demanda. Buena parte de este incremento viene motivado por las intervenciones de los programas europeos de desarrollo rural en apoyo a este tipo de iniciativas, que contribuyen a la conservación, restauración y rehabilitación de patrimonio que, de otro modo, caerían en el olvido o, sencillamente, desaparecerían. En el presente estudio se analiza la incidencia de los mencionados programas sobre las medidas que tienen, de algún modo, relación con la puesta en valor del patrimonio, durante el periodo 2002-2006, en Castilla-La Mancha.     The historic, cultural, architectural and natural heritage of the rural world has become one of the differentiating elements of rural tourism. This type of tourism has experienced considerable growth in recent years, both in the supply and the demand. Much of this growth can be attributed to the effect of the European rural development programmes that support this type of initiative. These programmes contribute to the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of heritage that would otherwise be forgotten, or simply disappear. The current study analyses the impact of these programmes on initiatives that aim to exploit this heritage during the period 2002-2006 in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha. The authors use the Shift-share methodology to identify the different effects (global, structural and competitive) that these programmes have on these initiatives.
