  La entrevista con el profesor Escolano realza el papel de la historia de la educación en la sociedad de la información, poniendo el énfasis en su carácter emancipador, crítico y moral, a pesar de que la dinámica de la globalización y la performatividad haya inducido un cierto ahistoricismo. Aun así, se constata el estado saludable de la investigación histórico-educativa en España y los enfoques renovadores que se encuentran en expansión. En esta nueva historia de la educación resulta relevante el esclarecimiento de las relaciones de interacción y convergencia entre las esferas científica, política y práctica de la cultura escolar. Probablemente, este análisis implicará un mayor reconocimiento de los educadores como los agentes que crean la cultura que termina por implantarse en la práctica. Sin el conocimiento de esta dimensión de la cultura de la educación difícilmente se podrán acometer con éxito las reformas educativas. Estas y otras consideraciones transmiten la idea de que la memoria de la educación tiene una consistente proyección práctica sobre el futuro

  Professor Escolano's interview calls attention to the role of History of Education in the information society, and emphasizes its emancipating, critical and moral nature, even though both the globalisation movement and performativity have induced a certain lack of historicism. Nevertheless, historic-educational research in Spain is strong, and innovative approaches are on the increase. In this new History of Education, it is relevant to clarify the interactions and convergence between the scientific, political, and practical dimensions of the school culture. This analysis will probably help to acknowledge educators as agents that create the culture that is transferred to educational practice. The success of an educational reform is linked to acknowledging this dimension of educational culture. This and other considerations transmit the notion that the memory of education has an important and practical projection on the future
