Este artículo estudia las capillas reales funerarias erigidas en las catedrales de Sevilla, Córdoba y Toledo desde mediados del siglo XIII hasta comienzos del siglo XV y donde recibieron sepultura Fernando III, Alfonso X, Sancho IV, Fernando IV, Alfonso XI, Pedro I, Enrique II, Juan I y Enrique III. Su estudio nos permite conocer mejor como eran estas fundaciones y catedrales así como especular como pudo ser la destruida capilla de Santa Cruz en la Catedral de Toledo tras estudiar su posible relación con la capilla real de Córdoba.
This article presents the royal funeral chapels which were built by the kings of Castile in the cathedrals of Seville, Cordova and Toledo from mid XIIIth century to beginning XVth century, where Fernando III, Alfonso X, Sancho IV, Fernando IV, Alfonso XI, Pedro I, Enrique II, Juan I and Enrique III were buried. This research allows us to know better how these foundations and cathedrals were and to point out how the destroyed chapel of Santa Cruz in the cathedral of Toledo could be after studying its possible relationship with the conserved royal chapel of Cordova.
