Resumen de Trabalho, corpo e educação em John Locke

The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship among body, labor and education in John Locke's thought. For that we divided the text in two parts: firstly, we put in relation his philosophical and political thought with social transformations which took place in XVII century. After that, we studied the role played by physical education in Locke's educational thought. As results, we could verify that when Locke focused on body education, he put it closely related with social and political debates carried out in England.

O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a relação entre corpo, trabalho e educação em John Locke. Para isso, dividimos o texto em dois momentos: no primeiro, relacionamos o pensamento político e filosófico do autor com as transformações da sociedade no século XVII. No segundo, analisamos a importância da educação física no seu pensamento educacional. Como resultado, pudemos verificar a forma como Locke, ao pensar sobre a educação do corpo, relaciona-a de forma próxima com os debates sociais e políticos que aconteciam na Inglaterra.
