    El transfer es un proceso básico en el aprendizaje. Es utilizado comúnmente pues permite aplicar lo aprendido en un contexto a otro contexto diferente. De este modo, el aprendizaje es útil y productivo ya que puede ser aplicado en diferentes situaciones sin necesidad de comenzar de nuevo el proceso. Este artículo recoge los trabajos realizados sobre el transfer o lo largo de la historia y presenta los nuevos modelos e investigaciones. Se pregunta por qué no ocurre el transfer y destaca las dificultades en su correcto evaluación. Finalmente, planteo algunos principios de enseñanza que favorecerían su manifestación en el aula.

    Transfer is a basic process in learning. It is commonly used since it represents the possibility of applying to a new context what was learnt in a previous one.

    In this way, learning is useful and productive because it can be applied to different situations without having to restart the process again. This article comprises the research about transfer accomplished throughout history and it presents new models and investigations. It also deals with the reasons why transfer does not take place and it points out the difficulties in its correct evaluation. Finally, it considers some principles of learning that optimise its occurrence in the classroom.
