El sindicato único y vertical fue el instrumento parejo del partido único para ejercer la función que se le atribuye en el título. A través del sindicato único, de afiliación generalizada y obligatoria para obreros y empresarios, el franquismo trataba de integrar al mundo del trabajo y de la empresa. A través del análisis de su trayectoria puede afirmarse que el sindicato vertical fue un instrumento político y económico del régimen franquista, que fue éste el que le dio la fuerza y resolvió los problemas que se le plantearon, pero que, al mismo tiempo, lo utilizó para controlar y encuadrar a los obreros y compensar a los empresarios y patronos por los apoyos que le prestaban.

he single non-representative trade union followed the pattern of the single party in order to carry out the function specified in the title of this article. With compulsory membership for all workers and employers, the single trade union was deployed by the Franco regime in order to bring both sides of industry together. An analysis of its history shows that it was a political and economic instrument of the regime. The regime gave the union its powers and solved the conflicts that arose, while at the same time using it to control and contain the workers, and pay back owners and managers for their support.
