Resumen de Democracia y multiculturalidad: el "ciudadanismo" como argumentación política

El argumento principal del artículo es justificar la necesidad de redefinir la democracia para que se acomode a los nuevos tiempos históricos de creciente diversidad cultural. Tras una primera parte de diagnósticos, y tener en cuenta, en una segunda parte, los límites de la argumentación política al construir discursos en torno a la gestión de la multiculturalidad, propondré, en una tercera parte, el análisis de la forma de argumentación política que denomino ciudadanismo, y que está fundamentada en la confusión de que el interés del ciudadano (frente al interés del inmigrante) es el interés de la democracia. Defenderé que esta forma de argumentación política se basa, en último término, en una concepción de la democracia monocultural, que precisamente debe problematizarse.

The main argument of the articule is to justify the need to redefine democracy to acomodate the new historical times of increasing cultural diversity. After a first part of diagnosis, and take into account, in a second part, the limits of the political argumentation to build discourses on the management of multiculturalism, I will propose, in a third part, the analysis of the form of policital argument that I call citizenism, and that is based on the confusion that the interest of the citizen (compared to the interest of the immigrant) is the interest of democracy. I will defend that this form of political argumentation is based, at the end, on a conception of monocultural democracy, which must be precisely problematized.
