  En este artículo trataremos de acercamos a uno de los personajes más notables e influyentes del pasado siglo: Michel Foucault, filósofo, psicólogo, escritor, periodista y, ante todo y sobre todo, profesor universitario. Michel Foucault es un personaje ciertamente poliédrico: activista político, historiador (de la locura, de la clínica, de la prisión, de la sexualidad), arqueólogo (del saber), analista (del discurso y de las relaciones de poder), psicólogo (genealogía de la subjetividad) y filósofo: filósofo de la modernidad... y de la postmodernidad, filósofo estructuralista... y postestructuralista, filósofo del poder... y del sujeto. Estas páginas son un intento de arrojar algo de luz al "misterio Foucault", presentándolo como un "pensador" (problematización como método foucaltiano), como un intelectual (específico), como un militante (político) y, fundamentalmente, como un (profesor) universitario. Lo que pretendemos en este artículo, en definitiva, es ofrecer algunas claves para interpretar la obra de un autor extraordinariamente fértil para el ámbito de la educación (Ovejero y Pastor, 2001).

  In this article we will try to approach one of the most outstanding and influential characters of the past century: Michel Foucault, Philosopher, Psychologist, Writer, Journalist and above all (university) Professor. Michel Foucault is certainly a versatile; political activist, Historian (of madness, sexuality, imprisonment and clinic), Archaeologist (of knowledge), Analyst (of discourse and power relations), Psychologist (Genealogy of subjectivity) and Philosopher (of Modernism... and Post -modernism, of Structuralism... and Post -structuralism, of power.. and the subject). These pages are and attempt to shed some light upon the "Mystery Foucault", presenting him as a thinker (Problematisation as the foucaultian method), as a intellectual (specific), as a militant (politic) and mainly as a university professor. Want we expect with this article, eventually, is to offer some keys to interpret the works of an extraordinarily fertile author in the field of education.
