El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el proceso de creación de las primeras academias reales en España, sus orígenes como tertulias y el contexto intelectual, marcado por el movimiento de los novatores, en el que surgieron. Se trata, además, de explorar cómo se configuraron y qué papel desempeñaron estas instiuciones sociabilidad, cuyas notas características eran la integración social y el trato igualitario entre individuos.

The objective of this article is to analyse the process of creation of the first royal academies in Spain, their origins as informal gatherings and the intellectual context, marked by the movement of the novatores, in which they appeared. An endeavour is also made to explore the configuration and the role played by these institutions of sociability, whose characteristic traits were social integration and equal treatment among individuals.
