Centenari del naixement de Maurici Serrahima [JOAN RIGOL i ROIG] Joan Rigol, President del Parlament de Catalunya, presenta, en aquest article, el reconeixement institucional a una de les figures del catalanisme polític més importats del segle XX. L'article commemora el centenari del naixement d'una personalitat rellevant de la Catalunya fracturada i derrotada per la guerra civil espanyola.
Maurici Serrahima es presenta com l'home que, amb les seves dimensions política, cultural i cívica, hagué d'assumir el compromís de la catalanitat com una actitud heroica de fidelitat i de sentit ètic. Ell, junt amb altres personatges de la seva generació, com ara Caries Riba, Josep Maria de Sagarra, Ferran Soldevila o Ramon Aramon, bagué de carregar-se sobre seu la manca de consciência col.lectiva, atemorida i derrotada, i bagué de viure en una espècie d'exili interior. A Maurici Serrahima li tocà iniciar la tasca de refer el país des de dins, sense cap mitjà per aconseguir-ho i amb totes les dificultats del món. L'article de Joan Rigol presenta a Serrahima com ciutadà atent, cronista d'una época fonamental i un autor d'una solidesa intel.lectual important. Si, per a Serrahima, la defensa de Catalunya com a nació, i la defensa de la llengua eren l'eix de la defensa de la nostra realitat col¿lectiva com a poble, com ho vivim avui, en les circumstàncies actuals? Centenary of the birth of Maurici Serrahima [JOAN RIGOL i ROIL] In this article, Joan Rigol, President of the Parliament of Catalonia, presents the institutional recognition of one of the most important figures of political Catalan nationalism of the 20th Century. The article commemorates the centenary of the birth of a relevant personage of a Catalonia torn apart by the Spanish Civil war. Maurici Serrahima is portrayed as the man who with his political, cultural and civic stature had to take on the commitment of Catalanity as a heroic attitude of loyalty and sense of ethics. He, along with other celebrities of his generation, such as Carles Riba, Josep Maria de Sagarra, Ferran Soldevila or Ramon Aramon, had to bear the burden of a lack of collective awareness, one which was lived in fear, broken, and they were forced to live in a kind of interior exile. It fell to Maurici Serrahima to undertake the task of rebuilding the country from within, with no means to help him, and facing all the difficulties in the world. The article by Joan Rigol presents Serrahima as a respectful citizen, a chronicler of a crucial epoch and an author or major intellectual standing. If Serrahima saw the defence of Catalonia as a nation, and the defence of the language, as the cornerstone of the defence of our collective reality as a people, how do we see this now, in the current circumstances? Are they still the two fundamental axes of our political life?
