Resumen de Ports economic impact: Literature review and alternative proposal

A review is undertaken in this article of the different alternatives which have been included in the literature applied to the analysis of the economic impact of port activity, detecting the main advantages and dis-advantages of each of them, and confirming that the applications based on Input-Output tables are by far the most used, both nationally and internationally.In the light of the review undertaken an alternative procedure is pro-posed which, including the main advantages of input-output methodol-ogy, allows for the systematic application to all Spanish regions and the regional location of the different impacts; direct, indirect and induced.
