Resumen de Las constelaciones familiares de Bert Hellinguer: un procedimiento psicoterapéutico en busca de identidad

Yolanda Alonso

  • The main purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze a psychotherapeutic approach known as ¿Family Constellation¿. Although this intervention is widely spread in German-speaking countries, it remains practically unknown in the Spanish-speaking professional spectrum. Family Constellation mainly pretends to reconstruct the client's picture of his or her family of origin. The intervention is developed in a one-session group setting, in which participants are invited to take the role of the relatives of the client in order to form a ¿living family tree¿. Despite its popular success, Family Constellation remains a very controversial process. There is almost not information about its therapeutic effectiveness and its theoretical principles have not been demonstrated. Nevertheless, some of its components deserve a careful consideration. The approach holds an interesting understanding of psychological problems in a transgenerational diachronic dimension. Moreover, the procedure could be a powerful tool for finding out significant dynamics among human relationships
