Antonio Machado entre la filosofía y la poesía: un recorrido por su pensamiento filosófico

Abstract

La figura del insigne poeta Antonio Machado parece agrandarse con el pasar de los años. Otro poeta, Ángel González dijo sobre el sevillano que era el poeta español más importante del siglo XX. Y sobre la figura de este español ilustre gira la propuesta de esta tesis: ampliar los horizontes académicos que sobre él se han vertido. Antonio Machado está considerado a nivel mundial como uno de los mejores poetas del siglo XX, categoría que la naturaleza de esta tesis no pone en tela de juicio. Y no lo hace porque esta tesis no versa sobre la poesía de Machado en sí misma, ni tan siquiera es una tesis marcadamente estética. La tesis, su contenido, se centra en la filosofía contenida en dicho autor. Esta filosofía se puede extraer tanto de su poesía como de sus obras en prosa. Por ello, en algunos pasajes veremos, de manera más especial, la relación que se mantendrá entre su poesía y su filosofía será muy íntima. Aunque la relación se puede considerar como más interesante por la forma en que la filosofía se nos va a revelar, ya que de manera tradicional la filosofía aparece de una manera más prosística. Tratar de manera profunda a la figura de Antonio Machado desde esta nueva perspectiva supone todo un desafío ya que la bibliografía que trata sobre un Antonio Machado pensador es relativamente escasa. Pero ello no implica que aquella bibliografía que nos encontramos no sea excelente y fecunda. Si tuviéramos que poner algunos de estos autores nos encontramos a autores de la talla de: P. Cerezo, Sánchez Barbudo, P. Cobos o José Hernández, entre otros. Los cuales han aportado unas investigaciones muy relevantes a esta faceta machadiana, aunque a juicio mío sin llegar a penetrar todo el arcano filosófico que este autor contiene. Esto no es debido a la validez de los escritos, sino por las dimensiones de las obras, pues la fecundad de Antonio Machado es tan inmensa que, por lo general, estos estudios quedan, de una manera u otra, sesgados. El establecimiento de un marco teorético es siempre de especial importancia. Uno de los que se presenta en esta tesis gira alrededor del pensamiento propio español, es decir, es un intento de lograrla reivindicación de pensar en español, quedando muchísimo por aportar e investigar en este ámbito. Señalar que la filosofía en la que se mueve Machado se encuentra alejada de la razón tradicional, aquella filosofía de carácter lógico deductivo que tiene sus inicios en Parménides, sino que se mueve, con gran soltura a mi parecer, sobre la razón poética. Siendo ésta una razón que permite salirse de los márgenes estrictos de la objetivación universal para mantenerse en un ámbito subjetivo, donde tanto los pensamientos como las deducciones tengan aperturas. Sería otra manera de poder aprehender realidades indescriptibles o metafísicas que surgen tanto en el pensar como en el sentir íntimo humano. Este resumen va a ser sólo un muestrario de los objetivos que se persiguen, de modo que para hablar de algunas tesis filosóficas de Machado lo haré ejemplificándolas en sus apócrifos. The figure of the distinguished poet Antonio Machado seems to grow larger as the years go by. Another poet, Ángel González, said of the Sevillian that he was the most important Spanish poet of the 20th century. And it is on the figure of this illustrious Spaniard that the proposal of this thesis revolves: to broaden the academic horizons that have been poured over him. Antonio Machado is considered worldwide as one of the best poets of the 20th century, a status that the nature of this thesis does not call into question. And it does not do so because this thesis does not deal with Machado's poetry per se, nor is it even a markedly aesthetic thesis. The thesis, its content, is centred on the philosophy contained in this author. This philosophy can be extracted from both his poetry and his prose works. Therefore, in some passages we will see, in a more special way, the relationship that will be maintained between his poetry and his philosophy will be very intimate. Although the relationship can be considered as more interesting because of the way in which philosophy will be revealed to us, since in a traditional way philosophy appears in a more prose-like manner. Dealing in depth with the figure of Antonio Machado from this new perspective is a challenge, since the bibliography that deals with Antonio Machado as a thinker is relatively scarce. But this does not imply that the bibliography we do find is not excellent and fruitful. If we were to list some of these authors, we would find authors of the stature of P. Cerezo, Sánchez Barbudo and others: P. Cerezo, Sánchez Barbudo, P. Cobos or José Hernández, among others. They have contributed some very relevant research into this Machadian facet, although in my opinion they have not managed to penetrate all the philosophical arcane that this author contains. This is not because of the validity of the writings, but because of the dimensions of the works, since the fecundity of Antonio Machado is so immense that, in general, these studies are, in one way or another, biased. The establishment of a theoretical framework is always of particular importance. One of those presented in this thesis revolves around Spanish thought itself, that is to say, it is an attempt to achieve the vindication of thinking in Spanish, and there is still much to be contributed and researched in this area. It should be pointed out that the philosophy in which Machado moves is far removed from traditional reason, that philosophy of a logical deductive nature which has its beginnings in Parmenides, but moves, with great ease in my opinion, on poetic reason. This being a reason that allows us to leave the strict margins of universal objectivation to remain in a subjective sphere, where both thoughts and deductions have openings. It would be another way of being able to apprehend indescribable or metaphysical realities that arise both in thinking and in the intimate human feeling.
