Resumen de Dialogia arquitectonica- comunicação visual e interacção. A piscina como palco de treino do nadador de competição

Renata de Mendonça Espinheira Gomes

  • The persistent discomfort that a large majority of architectural spaces presents today to its users is the result of various factors. Among them, and probably the most striking, is a little consideration that the architectural project have to these users in their emotional and psychosocial aspects.

The principle that the architecture should be developed based on the triad, of scientific, artistic and policy aspects that interact with each other according to human needs and desires, is usually not observed. According to the time and culture in which is integrated the project, these strands end up suffering nuances according to the needs, interests and objectives prevailing. No matter how distinct these nuances are, the direction of the project should not omit the architectural groundwork that aims to ensure the man's comfort (also psychological) in his life / spatial experience. Thus it is important to consider that the space and man are inseparable, and that they form like an intrinsic process as a dialogue.

The awareness that this process has strong implications in the psychological, social and cultural context is critical to the architect. His commitment to act in accordance with this principle will help to solidify the architectural groundwork and increase the odds to find a more feasible answer. In an overall view, the emerging architectural actions often omit the dialogic dimension and its intrinsic process to it. The situation exposed appears to be improved if we clarify the purpose and means of architecture and the architect's position as a interactive mediator between space and man. Based on this argument, the thesis is presented on the purpose to help clarifying and emphasizing the importance of this knowledge.

While the acquisition of knowledge increased, the interest in the subject also grew and strengthened the determination to investigate and reflect on a way of architectural action. After a first theoretical part, the thesis growths with the exposure of an action mode which is orientated, precisely, on the knowledge gained in this research and the tangible incidence of the poetic, rhetorical and ethical aspects of architecture.

The exhibition of this mode of action is presented on a study case: the pool, under a perspective of visual communication and interaction, as the scene of the swimmer training for competition, within a social and cultural time and space. It is also intended, with the particular case study, to understand the proposed action logic that is extensible to any part of experience / existence of the individual and also on the other senses of man, while contributing to a better understanding on how can this be addressed to a specific context. It is considered that this or any other projectual mode of action (which develops in interaction between the artistic, scientific and political strands, and the field and correct combination of poetics, rhetoric and ethics triad) and considering the human being, emphasizing the interpretation of the place and strengthening the very existential condition / space of the individual. Thus, we are convinced that the architectural plea is actually practiced and therefore the requested answer will be more correctly offered.
