El Camino del Santo Grial en la Comunidad Valenciana: tradición oral, aspectos intangibles y turismo cultural

    En el año 2002 comenzó a consolidarse una ruta que une las poblaciones afectas a la historia del Santo Cáliz en la Península Ibérica. Este recorrido que comienza en San Juan de la Peña en Aragón y culmina en la ciudad de València en la Comunidad Valenciana, se le ha denominado Camino del Santo Grial y la Agència Valenciana del Turisme juntamente con la Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Grial, está redescubriendo un nuevo y apasionante territorio grial. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar brevemente la historia del Santo Cáliz y constatar cómo un recurso patrimonial tangible se sustenta en un relato oral intangible que permiten establecer un camino, una nueva ruta de conocimiento desde San Juan de la Peña hasta València. Mostrar en definitiva la trascendencia que supone la tradición oral recibida de un objeto custodiado en la Catedral de València como patrimonio inmaterial dentro del relato conocido como “búsqueda del Santo Grial”. Comenzamos con una disertación sobre la importancia del patrimonio inmaterial en la actividad turística y lo referenciamos al concepto de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial según la UNESCO. A continuación, damos a conocer la tradición oral sobre la historia del Santo Cáliz tal y como nos ha llegado hasta nuestros días, aludiendo a la literatura medieval que conecta el mito con el objeto custodiado en la Catedral de València. El apartado de la metodología de trabajo hace referencia a las fuentes escritas que empiezan a desarrollar esta joven ruta para luego explicar quiénes son los agentes que actualmente la están poniendo en valor. Aportamos una breve reseña sobre las poblaciones más cocidas en la Comunidad Valenciana que conforman esta ruta. Cierra nuestra investigación el apartado de conclusiones en donde explicamos que la expresión València: Territorio Grial, podría ofrecer una nueva experiencia turística llena de riqueza intangible al visitante intrépido que desea conocer y buscar de nuevo el Santo Grial.

    Since 2002, a road linking the towns of San Juan de la Peña in Aragón with the city of Valencia in the Valencian Community has taken shape. This route has been called the Holy Grail Route and the Valencian Agency of Tourism along with the Cultural Association of the Route of the Holy Grail, is rediscovering a new and exciting grail territory. It is the construction of a tourist story that includes oral traditions, history, art, rituals and endless knowledge linked to what in the Middle Ages became known as the "search for the Grail." The aim of this article is to present the significance of the oral tradition received from an object guarded in the Cathedral of Valencia for more than five centuries. To present its history and to verify how a tangible patrimonial resource, the Holy Chalice, is based on an intangible oral narrative, that allow to establish a path, a new route of knowledge from San Juan de la Peña to València. It begins with a dissertation on the importance of intangible heritage in tourism. After presenting briefly the tradition of the history of the object, we expose the methodology of work that focuses on reviewing the documentary sources that exist on this young route. The conclusions section will close our investigation where we explained that València, Grail Territory, could offer a new tourist experience for the intrepid visitor who wants to know and look again the Grail, full intangible wealth.
