El autor indaga sobre las señales que la Corte Suprema de Justicia argentina viene emitiendo, principalmente con su remozada composición, tanto en sus sentencias como en sus acordadas, en orden a renovar y fortalecer su papel institucional, concentrar sus esfuerzos en el tratamiento de cuestiones de real magnitud constitucional, reforzar consecuentemente su rol como órgano de cierre de la justicia constitucional y, tal vez, acercarse a la figura de un tribunal constitucional desde el punto de vista funcional. La silueta institucional que en definitiva asuma la Corte de resultas de tal proceso de reconfiguración genera incógnitas sobre las que se reflexiona en el trabajo, entre otros aspectos, en torno a la estructuración de su marco competencial, las relaciones con otros Poderes del Estado y demás órganos constitucionales y el modo en que tal compacto de factores podría repercutir en el modelo de control de constitucionalidad en el orden federal.

The author studies the signs the Supreme Court of Justice is putting out in Argentina. Above all, he focuses on the new composition of its sentences and its agreements, intended to renew and strengthen its institutional role, concentrate its efforts on dealing with matters of real constitutional import, and perhaps, come closer to the role of a constitutional court in functional terms. The Court’s institutional shape after this reconfiguration has generated uncertainty as to issues covered in this article. These include the structure of its scope of powers, its relationships to other branches of State power and other constitutional bodies, and the way in which this set of factors may impact the model on control over constitutionality within the federal system.
