A reflection on Atlantic history and the way new perspectives on the circulation of consumption's patters at a global scale might change our perception of European Social history in the early modern period. The paper also stresses the role of resistance and non market factors such as violence in the introduction of European products in America. It goes against some ideas that presented America as a potentially wide market for the introduction of Spanish products in the 16th century.
