This article provides an overview of the importance of becoming reflective teacher and the implications to professional development in an English language Teaching Mexican program in Basic Education In this research, teachers' professional development is seen as result of accompaniment processes promoted by the guidance of a supervisor to enhance reflective teaching (Johnson, 2009; Orland-Barak, 2010). Particularly, the research explores the basis to provide guidance to five English elementary school language teachers who were requested to write reflective narratives without previous experience and formation in writing reflectively. An intervention workshop was implemented using Burns' (2005) and Griffee' (2012) action research model, which involved exposing teachers to a series of guided practices to enhance refection through journal writing. Overall, the results show the changing perspectives teachers developed towards reflective teaching practice, and mainly their professional growth. In other words, teachers' professional development in this article considers the construction of opportunities for educators to discuss, think, try out, and shape new practices through reflective teaching and journal writing.

This paper explore previous research in organization and teacher education studies in an attempt to construct an interdisciplinary perspective (Allen & Eby, 2008) of these two disciplines on mentoring to inform in-service ELT teacher education, continuing education programs and research development in this field. We attempt to entangle the complexity of mentoring relationships in regard to emotional competence, situated required competences, career stage, personal development, family lens, gender, and cultural dimensions and how these effect the quality of developmental networks and relationships

Implementing educational reform requires decisions and actions, which usually become a challenge for the people involved. Teaching English as a compulsory subject in the curricula of elementary public education in Mexico was the ‘implementation of an innovation’, which created a number of challenges worth documenting (Markee, 1997). This paper presents the results of a longitudinal study where the voices of a group of teachers involved in this implementation was heard and recorded using narrative inquiry (Johnson & Golombek, 2002). These teachers, living this innovational project in public elementary schools in Puebla, were going through a path nobody had walked before. Importantly in this study the teachers themselves through narratives and focus groups raised the issues and made their voices heard. Overall, this is a reconstruction of those voices from the PNIEB implementing stage in Puebla. Resumen

Research practices in the field of English Language
Teaching (ELT) and Applied Linguistics (AL) are
varied and often multidisciplinary. Researchers
within these fields investigate a wide range of interests
which span from topics as varied as the acquisition of
phonemes to social inequalities that are (re)produced
by particular discourse(s). The purpose of this volume
is to disseminate the findings of research studies that
were conducted within a particular sociocultural context,
namely, the M.A. in ELT (Maestría en la Enseñanza
del Inglés) at the Language Faculty (Facultad
de Lenguas) of the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma
de Puebla (BUAP). Within the previously mentioned
context, senior faculty members form research groups
that are based on particular research interests. These
research groups are called ‘cuerpos academicos’, and
they are meant to foster collaborative research within
the university as well as provide mentoring opportunities
for less experienced researchers as they collaborate
with senior researchers in their investigations.
