    Launched in September 2015 by the United Nations (UN), the 2030 Agenda was formally adopted by its 193 member countries, including Brazil, gaining prominence on the international stage. Addressing the most varied adversities faced by humanity in its 17 goals and 169 targets, Agenda 2030 assigns companies a fundamental role in implementing the Agenda, listing as Goal 17 that of "strengthening the means of implementation and revitalising the global partnership for sustainable development", so that the implementation of ESG -environmental, social and governance practices -in companies proves to be an important tool in favour of the SDGs. From this perspective, the aim of this study is to present the importance of companies adapting their business to the Sustainable Development Goals in the context of the 2030 Agenda and the implementation of ESG practices. The study was carried out by means of a literature review and documentary analysis, mainly exploring the international diplomas published by the UN, as well as studies published by its specialised agencies on the subject.

    Lançada em setembro de 2015 pela Organização das Nações Unidas –ONU, a Agenda 2030 foi formalmente adotada por seus 193 países-membros, incluindo o Brasil, ganhando protagonismo no cenário internacional. Abordando as mais variadas adversidades confrontadas pela humanidade em seus 17 objetivos e 169 metas, a Agenda 2030 atribui às empresas papel fundamental na implementação da Agenda, elencar como Objetivo 17 o de “reforçar os meios de implementação e revitalizar a parceria global para o desenvolvimento sustentável”, de modo que a implantação de ESG –práticas ambientais, sociais e de governança –nas empresas mostra-se importante ferramenta em prol dos ODSs. Nesta perspectiva, o presente estudo tem por objetivo apresentar a importância da adequação dos negócios para os Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável pelas empresas no contexto da Agenda 2030 e da implementação das práticas ESG. O estudo foi desenvolvido por meio de revisão bibliográfica e análise documental, explorando, principalmente, os diplomas internacionais publicados pela ONU, bem como estudos divulgados pelas suas agências especializadas sobre a temática.
