    Understanding legal matters is a technicalmatterthat requires higher education. However, the exercise of citizenship involves theconcretization of constitutional legal realities. The authors have been teaching Constitutional Law at the higher education level for many years, and they have experienced the need for legal and constitutional research and the reality of transmitting it to a very young audience, in the first year of higher education. These young people are the future active citizens, exercising their fundamental rights and acting on the political system. How to convey to students the depth and gravity of thequestionsof Constitutional Law? With exhausted methods of theoretical exposition of the contents, dictated by solid and durable manuals? Given theproblems, it is inevitable to maintain this component. It is necessary to introduce the student to new, unheard of and unavoidable concepts. But there is also a need to relate students in a friendly way with the fundamental documents, to make the State's fundamental law a document that is always present, easy to consult. In this context, the purpose of this intervention will be to demonstrate the possible work of bringing the State's fundamental legal text closer to citizens, in this case through the experience of teaching in higher legal education courses, with special emphasis on the ideas of citizenship and democracy.

    O entendimento das matérias jurídicas é conteúdo técnico, que abrange formação de nível superior. Contudo, o exercício de cidadania envolve a concretização de realidades jurídico constitucionais. Os autores exercem há anos largos a docência das matérias deDireito Constitucional no ensino superior, e vivem a necessidade da pesquisa jurídico-constitucional e a realidade de a transmitir a um público muito jovem, no primeiro ano da formação superior. Jovens que são os cidadãos ativos futuros, exercendo os seusdireitos fundamentais e atuando sobre o sistema político. De que forma transmitir aos alunos a profundidade e a gravidade das matérias do Direito Constitucional? Com métodos esgotados de exposição teórica dos conteúdos, ainda que ditados por manuais sólidos e duradouros? Atentos os assuntos, inevitável manter esta componente. Há que introduzir o aluno em conceitos novos, nunca ouvidos e incontornáveis. Mas há também que relacionar os alunos de forma amigável com os documentos fundamentais, tornar a lei fundamental do Estado um documento sempre presente, fácil de consultar. Neste quadro, o intuito desta intervenção será demonstrar o trabalho possível de aproximação do texto jurídico fundamental do Estado aos cidadãos, no caso através da experiência de lecionação em cursos de formação jurídica superior, com especial destaque para as ideias de cidadania e de democracia.
