En este artículo ofreceré una revisión condensada del estado actual del uso de los sistemas deinformación gráfica (sig) en arqueología, trataré de esbozar el papel actual de los sig y del análisis espacialpara la interpretación arqueológica y mostraré su potencial para cambiar las perspectivas teóricas y las diferentes formas o tradiciones de investigación tomando como ejemplo algunas investigaciones recientes. Porúltimo, trataré de ver en una bola de cristal y estableceré una agenda tentativa para la investigación futura

: In this paper, I will give a condensed overview of the current state of gis use in archaeology, andattempt to sketch the current role of gis and spatial analysis for archaeological interpretation, and showits potential for changing theoretical perspectives and research traditions, drawing on examples from recentresearch. And lastly, I will try to look into the crystal ball, and set a tentative agenda for future research
