Resumen de Análisis de la evolución del complejo dunar Salinas–El Espartal mediante el empleo de ortofotografía, DSAS y LIDAR (1957–2021)

  Los sistemas dunares son ecosistemas multifuncionales de gran importancia para el equilibrio ecológico y la biodiversidad.Se trata de sistemas dinámicos y frágiles de especial protección, por lo que será fundamental conocer su evolución a lo largo del tiempo. Debido a la escasez de datos históricos, la mayoría de los trabajos se basan en el empleo de fotografía aérea, estableciendo comparativas entre las imágenes disponibles. En los últimos años, el empleo de datos provenientes de vuelos LIDAR ha permito definir con mayor precisión las unidades morfológicas y determinar los avances de los frentes dunares. Combinando ambas fuentes de datos mediante el empleo de técnicas GIS y el software DSAS ya se han mejorado los resultados de la evolución de los campos dunares en otras costas de España. El estudio se realiza sobre el complejo dunar Salinas-El Espartal (Asturias). Se han descargado todos los datos disponibles de fuentes libres, incluyendo fotografía aérea, ortofotografía y el LIDAR de los años 2014 y 2020. Los resultados de este estudio ponen de manifiesto el deterioro del sistema dunar ya que el 60% de la superficie natural original se ha antropizado.

  Dune systems are important multifunctional ecosystems for ecological balance and biodiversity. They are dynamic and fragilesystems which require special protection, so it is essential to know how they have evolved over time. Most of the studies arebased on making comparison between aerial photography due to the limited historical data available. In recent years, the useof data from LIDAR flights has made it possible to define the morphological units with greater precision and to determine theprogress of the dune lines. Combining both sources of data using GIS techniques and DSAS software has already improvedthe results of the evolution of dune fields on other coasts of Spain. The study was carried out on the Salinas-El Espartal dunecomplex (Asturias). All available data from free sources have been downloaded, including aerial photography from 1957,orthophotography and LIDAR for the years 2014 and 2020. The results of this study show the degradation of the dune system,as 60% of the original natural area has been anthropized.
