In order to evaluate the relationship between racemization index and preservation of ancient DNA, content of Asp, Clu, Leu, ala, Phe, HO-Pro and D/L Asp ratio was studied through Gass Chromatography (CG). Thirty nine samples from 32 individuals were collected in archaeological sites from Tell Hallula and Tell Ramad (Syria 10000 BP), Abauntz (Navarra, 5500 BP), Tres Montes (Navarra, 5500 BP), Nerja (Málaga, 18-20000 BP, 5875 BP), Caldeirao (Portugal, 7300 BP), Mari (Syria, 5500 BP) and Dj'ade (Syria, 10000 BP), Aminoacid content in dentine was determined in 19 out of 39 samples, 4 in bone and 16 in total teeth. Dentine and total teeth aminoacid content was estimated in 7 samples. Results were correlated with burial conditions, type of tissue, and reproducibility of Mt DNA amplifications.
