    La explosión cuantitativa, pero también cualitativa que vivió el cineclubismo español durante la década de los años cincuenta y sesenta, invita a atender la implicación que tuvo el Cineclub Universitario del SEU de Salamanca (CUSS) como espacio de atención y difusión del Nuevo Cine Español (NCE). Tras la marcha de Basilio Martín Patino de la dirección del cineclub, hubo unos años ?consecuencia de las revueltas estudiantiles de febrero de 1956? en los que el excesivo control policial de las iniciativas juveniles estuvo a punto de terminar con aquella aventura. José Luis Hernández Marcos, director desde octubre de 1955, compaginó y aprovechó su puesto en la dirección de la Federación Nacional de Cineclubs (FNC), organizando ciclos y cursos en los que se mostraba y se apoyaba el cine de una generación recién salida del Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas (IIEC). Este artículo se centrará en dos de los eventos que más representaron aquella tendencia: el II Curso de Estudios Universitarios de Cine, de 1960 y el II Encuentro del Cine Español, de 1963. Se verá también, cómo desde el cineclub, fueron perdiendo aquel interés ?arrastrado desde 1953? por ligar la cultura cinematográfica a la universidad. Los boletines especiales que elaboraron para estos encuentros, sumado a la documentación epistolar custodiada por el Archivo Histórico Provincial de Salamanca (AHPSa), configuran la base documental sobre la que se sustenta este estudio.

    The quantitative, but also qualitative explosion that Spanish film clubs experienced during the 1950s and 1960s, invites us to pay attention to the involvement of the University Film Club of the SEU of Salamanca (CUSS) as one of the nerve centres for the attention and diffusion of the New Spanish Cinema (NCE). After the departure of Basilio Martín Patino from the direction of the film club, there were some years ?a consequence of the student revolts of February 1956? in which excessive police control of youth initiatives almost put an end to the adventure. However, José Luis Hernández Marcos, director since October 1955, combined and took advantage of his position as director of the National Federation of Film Clubs (FNC), organising cycles and courses that showcased and supported the cinema of a generation that had just graduated from the Institute of Cinematographic Research and Experiences (IIEC). This article will focus on two of the events that most represented that trend: the II University Film Studies Course, in 1960 and the II Spanish Film Encounter, in 1963. It will also be seen how, since the film club, they have been losing that interest ?which had been rooted since 1953? for linking film culture to the University. The special bulletins they produced for these encounters, together with the epistolary documentation kept in the Provincial Historical Archive of Salamanca (AHPSa), form the documentary basis on which this study is based.
