    Este artículo presenta un balance de las investigaciones sobre libros, manuales, textos, saberes y disciplinas escolares en América Latina, específicamente en Brasil, Colombia y México. Con ocasión de la celebración de los 30 años del Congreso Iberoamericano de Historia de la Educación -CIHELA-, se plantea este artículo que se propone visibilizar los hilos de las investigaciones acerca de las temáticas centrales y los efectos en la constitución de una comunidad académica interesada en este objeto de estudio en la región. Es así como se parte del análisis de fuentes documentales derivadas de las memorias del CIHELA y de otros referentes derivados o conectados con el Congreso. Se hace una presentación de los contextos, desarrollos y descripciones particulares de cada país, para concluir en los puntos comunes, las articulaciones, las diferencias en los abordajes y rutas de cada país, así como los desafíos que se proyectan para la investigación en este campo de estudio en América Latina.

    This article presents balance of some of the research on books, manu-als, texts, knowledge, and school disciplines in Latin America, specifically in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. On the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Ibero-American Congress on the History of Education —CIHELA, this analysis aims to make visible the threads of some of the research on the central themes around this object of study and the effects on the constitution of an academic community interested in this topic in the region. This is how the analysis of documentary sources derived from the CIHELA reports and other references produced or connected within the framework of the Congress is based. The article begins with a presentation of the emergency contexts of this object, developments and particular descriptions of each country in which it is focused; Subsequently, the most significant developments and singularities of each country are described, to conclude with the common points, the articula-tions, the differences in the approaches and routes that could be undertaken to give continuity to these studies, as well as the challenges that are projected for research in this field of study in Latin America and Ibero-America.
