    É objetivo desta comunicação contribuir para a reflexão em torno dos Sistemas de Arquivo noséculo XXI: profesionais e Institucións nos tempos líquidos que, visando um pendor profissional,cultural e social e uma preocupação sobre o papel dos arquivos e dos arquivistas, colocadesafios de partida que, à semelhança da obra que adota como mote (Archives in liquid times),salienta a importância de não dissociar a dimensão teórica e metodológica da dimensãoaplicada. Uma abordagem que permite introduzir a discussão em torno da necessidade dese clarificarem posicionamentos epistemológicos, essenciais para uma operacionalizaçãoem contextos cada vez mais complexos e dominados pelo digital.Enunciados alguns dos questionamentos que a temática em foco nos suscitou, procede-se a umabreve retrospetiva em torno dos records management / archives, dos modelos records-lifecyclee records-continuum e da aproximação concetual à informação, e consequente valorizaçãodo dinâmico e continuo fluxo infocomunicacional e de uma atuação conjunta e continuadacom o produtor/consumidor de informação, atendendo, desde logo, às rápidas mudanças eflexibilidade exigida pelos desafios organizacionais. Segue-se a apresentação dos traços geraisde uma investigação que teve em foco a universidade pública portuguesa. Conclui-se comas propostas de análise e de modelo de intervenção – o MGSI-AP – no quadro da mudançaparadigmática de base trans e interdisciplinar que há muito se vem fazendo no campo científicoda Ciência da Informação e, mais especificamente, na área de estudos transversal e aplicadada Gestão da Informação, com impacto a nível teórico, metodológico e aplicado.

    The purpose of this communication is to contribute to the reflection around Archive Systemsin the 21st century: professionals and Institutions in liquid times that, targeting a professional,cultural and social approach and a concern about the role of archives and archivists, stressthe importance of not dissociating the theoretical and methodological dimension fromthe practical one. This poses starting challenges similar to the essay it adopts as a motto(Archives in liquid times), and ends up introducing the discussion around the need to clarifyepistemological positions essential for an operationalization in increasingly complex anddigital-dominated contexts.Having stated some of the questions raised by the theme focused, we make a brief retrospectivearound the records management/archives, the records-lifecycle and records-continuummodels and the growing closeness to information concept. We also approach the valorisationof the dynamic and continuous info-communicational flow and the continuous interactionwith the information producer/consumer, taking into account, from the outset, the rapidchanges and flexibility required by the organizational challenges. A case study is presentedwith the description of the general features of a research focused on the Portuguese publicuniversity. It concludes with the presented proposals of an multidimensional analysis matrixand an intervention model - the MGSI-AP - within the framework of the trans and interdisciplinary paradigmatic change that has long been taking place in the scientific field ofInformation Science and, more specifically, in the transversal and applied studies area ofInformation Management, which impacts at theoretical, methodological and applied levels.
