Análise das causas do desmatamento em Altamira / PA - discussão sobre os principais agentes causadores

    The diversity of forest species in the Amazon is the highest on Earth, with some experts estimating that one square kilometer in the Amazon may contain more than 1,000 types of trees and thousands of species from other higher plants. And, in the search to deepen and know the factors that impact this biome, this article aims to present a theoreticaldiscussion through the bibliographic verification about the agents that drive deforestation in private areas or in different stages of ownership in the Municipality of Altamira/PA that, according to the IBGE (census 2022), is one of the 10 most populous Pará municipalities, with 126,279 inhabitants. The municipality is also included in the list of municipalities that deforested the most in the state of Pará, a factor of fundamental relevance in the definition of the area of analysis. From the systematization of the data collected, it is noted that the main agents that caused the deforestation in the municipality of Altamira/PA include livestock farming and illegal logging considered potentially profitable activities for the producers and that this profitability is the basic factor that drives the deforestation process in the region.

    A diversidade de espécies florestais na Amazônia é a mais alta da Terra, sendo que alguns especialistas estimam que um quilômetro quadrado amazônico possa conter mais de mil tipos de árvores e milhares de espécies de outras plantas superiores. E, na busca em aprofundar e conhecer os fatores que impactam esse bioma, este artigo objetiva apresentar uma discussão teórica através da verificação bibliográfica sobre os agentes que impulsionam o desmatamento em áreas privadas ou em diferentes estágios de propriedade no Município de Altamira/PA que, segundo o IBGE (censo 2022), é um dos 10 municípios paraenses mais populosos, com 126.279 habitantes. O município ainda consta na lista dos municípios que mais desmataram no Estado do Pará, fator de fundamental relevância na definição da área de análise. A partir da sistematização dos dados levantados, nota-se que os principais agentes que causaram o desmatamento no município de Altamira/PA incluem a pecuária e a extração ilegal de madeira considerada atividades potencialmente lucrativas para os produtores e que essa lucratividade é o fator básico que impulsiona o processo de desmatamento na região.
