  This article addresses the crucial influenceof the family in shaping individual character and the teaching-learning process. It examines how, throughout history, families have faced challenges arising from liberalism and political ideologies, often shifting to public institutions the responsibilitythat is inherently theirs: the education of their children. The study underscores the importance of family values in character formation, emphasizing that, while the school plays a significant role in academic development, the construction of moral and ethical foundations is primarily the responsibility of parents. The study highlights changes in contemporary family dynamics and their impacts on the development of children and adolescents. The interaction between family values and teaching-learning is explored, illustrating how the effective merging of these elements enriches the educational experience. Using a bibliographic research approach, the article analyzes materials from various authors, underscoring the importance of this methodology. The relationship between parents and education is considered fundamental, and the text argues that contemporary society, often focused on material achievements, neglects essential aspects such as affection, stability, and understanding. The parents' responsibility in providing spiritual and moral guidance to their children is emphasized, highlighting that character formation begins within the family. The research also addresses the relevance of maternal and paternal presence in the emotional development of children. Therole of the mother in creating emotional bonds and security is emphasized, while the father is presented as the primary vehicle of social authority, shaping the child's understanding of the external world. Subjectivity in the family is discussed as a determining factor in character formation. The text explores how family culture, expectations, and communication positively or negatively influence family members. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of a healthy family environment, based on respect, open communication, and mutual support, to promote the development of an ethical and solid character.

  Este artigo aborda a influência crucial da família na formação do caráter individual e no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Examina como, ao longo da história, a família tem enfrentado desafios decorrentes do liberalismo e de ideologias políticas, que muitas vezes deslocam para as instituições públicas a responsabilidade que é intrinsecamente sua: a educação dos filhos. O estudo destaca a importância dos valores familiares na formação do caráter, salientando que, embora a escola tenha um papel significativo na formação acadêmica, a construção de alicerces morais e éticos é primordialmente responsabilidade dos pais. Enfatiza as mudanças na dinâmica familiar contemporânea e seus impactos no desenvolvimento das crianças e adolescentes. A interação entre valores familiares e ensino-aprendizagem é explorada, evidenciando como a fusão efetiva desses elementos enriquece a experiência educacional. Utilizando uma abordagem de pesquisa bibliográfica, o artigo analisa materiais de diversos autores, ressaltando a importância dessa metodologia. A relação entre os pais e a educação é considerada fundamental, e o texto argumenta que a sociedade contemporânea, muitas vezes focada em conquistas materiais, negligencia aspectos essenciais como afeto, solidez e compreensão. Destaca-se a responsabilidade dos pais na orientação espiritual e moral dos filhos, ressaltando que a formação do caráter começa no seio familiar.
