Resumen de Entre política y devoción: las festividades de desagravio en Sevilla (1613) y Madrid (1624)

La presente comunicación tiene como objetivo un estudio de caso de dos festividades de desagravio realizadas a comienzos del siglo XVII con motivo de las ofensas a la Inmaculada Concepción y al Santo Sacramento. Si bien las festividades fueron de carácter religioso, no se puede ignorar el clima político y social en el que se inscribieron y cómo la coyuntura influyó en la celebración, las razones y el despliegue de propaganda eclesiástica y monárquica que envolvió estas funciones. De esta forma, se pretende enfatizar cómo ambas funciones no se han de entender, únicamente como festividades religiosas, sino que fueron eventos políticos que reflejaron profundamente la sociedad del momento y la identidad hispana.

This paper introduce a study of two desagravio festivities that took place at the begining of the 17th because of the insults performed against the Immaculate Conception and the Holy Sacrament. Although the festivities were religious, it is undeniable the importance of the political and social climate in which they took place and the deployment of the ecclesiastical and monarchial propaganda of these celebrations. Consequently, it is intended to expose how both functions should not be understood solely as religious, but rather as political events that reflected the society of the time and the hispanic identity.
