This article is devoted to the synthesis and characterization of acrylamide-acrylic acid hydrogels containing indolbutyric acid (IBA) as rooting auxin by two different methods. In the first alternative, the hormone is incorporated in the reagents mixture before polymerization, and in the second one, IBA become incorporated through a dry hydrogel hydration in a hormone ethanol-water solution. In both cases the quantity of IBA incorporated to the gel is determined and interrelated with IBA concentration in the mixtures and solutions
