Resumen de El nuevo (des)orden mundial desde el prisma occidental

El mundo se encuentra actualmente inmerso en un proceso de cambio muy significativo, caracterizado por el alineamiento de las potencias geopolíticas hacia un nuevo orden mundial que rompe con la hegemonía occidental, consolidada desde el fin de la Guerra Fría y al que nos referiremos como el nuevo (des)orden mundial, en este artículo.
El equilibrio de poderes y la supremacía ostentada por Occidente podrían llegar a su ocaso, abriendo el camino hacia una era multipolar, donde destaca el empuje de la alianza BRICS, que tras la cumbre anual de 2023, ha enviado una fuerte señal al mundo, transmitiendo el mensaje de que el orden posterior a la Segunda Guerra Mundial debe evolucionar hacia un orden multipolar, que integre a más Estados.
Por ello, la esfera de las relaciones internacionales apunta hacia un paradigma desconocido, distinguido por un creciente criticismo hacia el modelo de democracia y valores occidentales, dando paso a nuevos alineamientos y relaciones de cooperación, o de competencia estratégica. La fiabilidad de los socios tradicionales se ve debilitada y atacada con narrativas y discursos que ya resuenan en las reuniones de alto nivel y denuncian la fragilidad del orden mundial actual, defendiendo la necesidad de reordenar las relaciones internacionales para superar el denominado egocentrismo de Occidente.

The world is currently immersed in a very significant process of change, characterized by the realignment of geopolitical powers towards a new world order that breaks with Western hegemony, which had been established since the end of the Cold War, and which we will refer to as the new (dis)order of the world in this article.
The balance of power and the supremacy held by the West may be coming to an end, paving the way for a multipolar era, with the BRICS alliance taking a prominent role. After the annual summit of 2023, it sent a strong signal to the world, conveying the message that the post-World War II order should evolve into a multipolar order that includes more states.
As a result, the field of international relations is moving towards an unknown paradigm, marked by increasing criticism of the Western model of democracy and values. This shift is giving rise to new alignments and relations of cooperation or strategic competition. The reliability of traditional partners is weakened and under attack with narratives and discourses that are already resonating in high-level meetings, denouncing the fragility of the current world order and advocating the need to rearrange international relations to overcome the so-called 'egocentrism' of the West."
