Resumen de Diferencias en el reparto de escaños con el método D'Hondt y el método de Sainte-Laguë: aplicación práctica en las elecciones al Parlament de Catalunya del 14F 2021

  El presente artículo trata de inferir, mediante el estudio de caso de las elecciones al Parlament de Catalunya del 14 de febrero de 2021, las diferencias que existen en la asignación de escaños según se use la fórmula electoral D'Hondt o la Sainte-Laguë. Además se muestra, usando el mismo caso, las diferencias que se darían si se aplicase una circunscripción electoral única para toda Catalunya. Para ello, este estudio se basa en una metodología cuantitativa materializada a través de una perspectiva estadística, y se han recreado los resultados electorales con base en los datos aportados por la Generalitat de Catalunya tras el 14 de febrero. Con base en ello, el objetivo es analizar la diferencia entre ambos sistemas electorales dada la polémica vigente, y más todavía en el caso catalán, donde no existe ley electoral propia. Los resultados muestran que con la aplicación de la Sainte-Laguë los partidos PDeCAT y Recortes Cero hubieran tenido representación.

  This article tries to infer, through the case study of the elections lo the Parliament of Catalonia on February the 14th, 2021, the differences that exist in the allocation of seats depending on whether the D'Hondt ar the Sainte-Laguë electoral formula is used. In addition, it also shows, using the same case, the differences that would occur if a single electoral constituency were applied for the whole of Catalonia. For this, this study is based on a quantitative methodology materialized through a statistical perspective. The electoral results were recreated based on the data provided by the Generalitat de Catalunya after February the 14th. Based on this, the goal of this study is to analyze the difference between both electoral systems given the current controversy, and even more so in the Catalonian case, where there is no electoral law of its own. The results show that with the application of the Sainte-Lague the PDeCAT and Recortes Cero parties would have had representation.
