Franco Urbani, Héctor Pérez Marchelli
Sievers has been one of the main geographers of Venezuela and after two trips during 1884/85 and 1892/93 he publishes 45 works about this country, three of them about the earthquakes of 1812, 1894 and 1900. He maintained correspondence with Francisco de Paula Alamo and Henry L. Boulton. In two letters he mentions the 1900 Caracas earthquake, asking his correspondents for information and newspapers clips. With this information in 1905 he publishes his work, including a map of iso-seismic intensities. The interesting contend of the letters opens the possibility of finding more data in the Sievers archive at Giessen University, Germany, including the report by Boulton.
