In the last decades, Demand-Side Management (DSM) and Demand Response (DR) have gained increasing attention due to their important role in energy management and smart grids. DSM/DR strategies are important not only for the electrical grids but also for the consumers willing to achieve energy and cost savings. Hence, this book chapter aims to serve as a resource for researchers, educators, and scientists in understanding DSM, DR, and their effects on the grid and household energy decision-making.
