The Author takes the cue from the twenty years of the issuing of the Letter about the pastoral function of ecclesiastical museums to investigate the relevance of its inspiring principles and the role of these museums in contemporary society. Ecclesiastical museums guard and preserve the cultural heritage placed at the service of the Church’s mission and, according to the Author, assume an ever increasing importance having the task of transmitting to future generations the witness of the processes of inculturation of the faith.
