Sucessão e competências empreendedoras nas empresas familiares do setor do artesanato e agroturismo

Resumo

As empresas familiares representam uma parte significativa do tecido empresarial e têm uma importância extrema para a economia e desenvolvimento dos países. Todavia, estas empresas enfrentam vários desafios, nomeadamente, no processo de sucessão no qual as competências empreendedoras assumem um papel relevante. Assim, o objetivo do presente artigo consiste em identificar as competências empreendedoras chave presentes no processo de sucessão de empresas familiares portuguesas dos setores de artesanato e agroturismo. Para a realização do estudo optou-se por uma abordagem qualitativa, a técnica de obtenção de dados foi através de entrevistas pessoais semiestruturadas a elementos seniores (geração antecessora) e juniores (geração sucessora) dessas empresas. Os resultados permitiram identificar diferentes processos de sucessão bem como diferentes formas de aquisição de competências empreendedoras, e consequentemente, diferentes graus de desenvolvimento deste tipo de competências nas gerações antecessora e sucessora. Para além disso, constatou-se que em ambas gerações, a relação com o mercado surge como uma das competências empreendedoras fundamentais para o sucesso.
