El Valle del Ricote es característico por ser uno de los últimos reductor moriscos del Imperio Islámico de Al- Ándalus. Un lugar lleno de cultura, historia, leyendas, costumbres y paisajes idílicos en Pleno corazón de la Región de Murcia.
En este texto exploraremos varias leyendas e historias de los municipios que forman el Valle que han dado forma a su rica cultura e historia. Se destaca la expulsión de los moriscos en el siglo XVII como un evento importante que afectó a la región, también examinaremos diferentes roles atribuidos al “moro” en la literatura española a lo largo de la historia, desde ser enemigos hasta personajes galantes. Se enfatiza cómo estas representaciones variaron a lo largo del tiempo y se adaptaron a diferentes contextos históricos.

The Ricote Valley is known for being one of the last Moorish strongholds in the Islamic Empire of Al-Andalus. It’s a place filled with culture, history, legends, customs, and idyllic landscapes in the heart of the Region of Murcia. In this text, we will explore several legends and stories from the municipalities that make up the Valley that have shaped its rich culture and history. The expulsion of the Moors in the 17th century is highlighted as a significant event that affected the region. We will also examine different roles attributed to the “Moor” in Spanish literature throughout history, ranging from being enemies to gallant characters.
It emphasizes how these representations varied over time and adapted to different historical contexts.
