En el presente escrito vamos a abordar la obra teatral sacra de Enrique Pérez Escrich representada en Villanueva del Río Segura, en el Valle de Ricote, incidiendo en las fuentes documentales escritas que existen al respecto (literarias y periodísticas) y las fuentes orales. Autor, obra y aportaciones orales serán fundamentales para delimitar la importancia de esta representación en la Villanueva de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX.

In this paper we are going to approach the sacred treatrical work of Enrique Pérez Escrich performed in Villanueva del Río Segura, in the Ricote Valley, focusing on the written documentary sources that exist in this regard (literary and journalistic) and de oral sources. Author, work and oral contriburions will be fundamental to define the importance of this representation in Villanueva at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century.
