Resumen de Mujeres y privación de libertad en Chile. Dimensiones de lo punitivo y discriminaciones

El artículo es un acercamiento a la realidad de las mujeres privadas de libertad y las discriminaciones que supone el sistema penitenciario para ellas. Comienza con una caracterización sobre el perfil de las reclusas, y sigue con un análisis de los aspectos relacionados con la transgresión social del delito. A continuación, se efectúa un estudio de los efectos que tiene para ellas el ingreso en prisión, finalizando con un análisis de las discriminaciones que les afectan a nivel de infraestructura, maternidades, derechos sexuales y reproductivos, salud, sanciones y formación. Las duras condiciones que impone la cárcel se agravan considerablementeen su caso, generando un daño irreparable no solo para ellas y su descendencia sino para toda la sociedad.

The article is an approach to women deprived of liberty´s reality and the discriminations that the prison system supposes for them. It starts with a characterization on the profile of the inmates, followed by the analyze on the social transgression of crime aspects. Subsequently a study is made of how they are affected by entering into prison, and finishes with an analysis on the discrimination that affects them at the level of infrastructure, maternity, sexual and reproductive Rights, health, sanctions and training. The harsh conditions imposed by the prison are considerably worse in their case, generating irreparable damage not only for them and their offspring but for the entire society.
