Resumen de “Los convertidos”: surgimiento e institucionalización de la Primera Iglesia Evangélica Bautista de Rafaela

  Las oleadas inmigratorias de finales del XIX y principios del XX contextualizaron y posibilitaron la diversificación del campo religioso en Argentina. Los inmigrantes trajeron consigo creencias religiosas diversas que impactaron en la conformación de la religiosidad argentina. Las migraciones internas de estos grupos, a su vez posibilitaron la difusión de estas creencias religiosas. El surgimiento e institucionalización de la Primera Iglesia Evangélica Bautista de Rafaela a fines de la década del diez, da cuenta de este fenómeno en las colonias del centro oeste santafesino. En este sentido, planteamos que las relaciones sociales y contextuales (locales, provinciales y nacionales) experimentadas por los viejos y nuevos creyentes fueron el punto de partida para el surgimiento de la Iglesia Bautista a nivel local y que su consolidación se forjó en base a las relaciones de colaboración establecidas entre los miembros del grupo, con otros grupos de localidades cercanas o más consolidados, y de aquellos con la sociedad rafaelina.

  The waves of immigration in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries contextualized and made possible the diversification of the religious field in Argentina. Immigrants brought with them diverse religious beliefs that impacted the shaping of Argentine religiosity. The internal migrations of these groups, in turn, made possible the spread of these religious beliefs. The emergence and institutionalization of the First Evangelical Baptist Church of Rafaela in the late tenth, gives an account of this phenomenon in the colonies of the center west of Santa Fe. In this sense, we propose that social and contextual relations (local, provincial and national) experienced by old and new believers were the starting point for the emergence of the Baptist Church at the local level and that its consolidation was forged based on the collaborative relationships established between the members of the group, with other groups of nearby or more consolidated localities, and those with the Raphaelite society.
