    Se ofrece una visión general del período, señalando su compleja problemática, dominada por las teorías difusionistas que actualmente tienen menor peso. El conocimiento de los diferentes círculos culturales aparece desigual en función de la intensidad investigadora de cada zona, existiendo datos más explícitos en el sur y en el noreste y verdaderamente exiguos en el norte y noroeste. Desde el inicio de siglo, ha habido una tendencia a calcar esquemas cronológico-culturales europeos que no debe considerarse excesivamente paradigmática. Indudablemente, existen corrientes procedentes del Atlántico, de Centro Europa y del Mediterráneo Central, pero no deben supervalorarse en detrimento de los específicos sustratos culturales de los respectivos círculos. A su vez, la periodización del Bronce tripartita europea realmente no existe, complicando la visión cultural y la realidad de los horizontes, pero todavía no se ha alcanzado un cuadro cronológico aceptable por falta de datos estratigráficos en casi todo el territorio peninsular, excepto en Andalucía y sureste.

    A description is given of its complicated problems, dominated by diffusionist interpretations, whose validity is now less widely accepted.

    Knowledge of the various cultures is uneven, depending on the state of research, better in the South and Northeast than in the North and Northeast.

    Since investigations undertaken at the beginning of the century. European cultural and chronological systems have been adopted that should be used with caution. Currents exist frorn the Atlantic, Central Europe and the Central Mediterranean, although they should not be overestimated at the expense of specific local cultural developments between which there were evident interactions.

    A tripartite periodization of the Bronze Age has also been adopted in Iberia that really did not exist and which complicates the interpretation of its culture, but until now no acceptable chronological framework has been established because of the lack of stratigraphic data throughout most of the peninsula, except in Andalusia and the Southeast.
