  La capacitación de un individuo se inicia básicamente durante su infancia, cuando puede ir desarrollando ciertas aptitudes, ya sea en su hogar, en la escuela, e inclusive, en algún centro de formación profesional, aunque esto no sea frecuente, sino más bien ocurra en etapas posteriores. Por otra parte, debemos abordar el análisis considerando si la capacitación va dirigida a personal operativo, a mandos medios, o a cargos gerenciales, puesto que tanto la metodología como los tiempos requeridos en cada una de estas situaciones difieren considerablemente.
